"O Mirror of the Dove of Most Chaste Beauty" begins the second of Three Antiphons of Hildegard of Bingen, written for the choir by Jamie John Hutchings, demonstrating that choral music continues to evolve while remaining deeply connected to its past. This stunning work has previously been performed by Suffolk Singers at Ely Cathedral, and during our 2018 tour to Ypres, Belgium.

Full Fathom Five

View all song details

Full Fathom Five is a hauntingly atmospheric setting by Charles Wood of words from William Shakespeare's The Tempest.

“Full fathom five thy father lies…” with these famous lines, Shakespeare conjures a world beneath the waves, where loss is transformed into something strange and beautiful. Wood's shimmering harmonies and flowing lines perfectly capture the mystery of the sea, the tolling of distant bells, and the sense of wonder that runs through the text.

This evocative miniature is one of the gems in our upcoming programme, a piece that allows the choir to explore colour, texture, and storytelling in sound. We can't wait to share it with audiences in Norfolk this May.
